Match report 03/05/2014

Cambride C 2 - Unicol C Black 0

Unicol were well beaten this game. Cambridge used their solid rough style of play to bully us all over the pitch. Being a cup game an official ref was provided and was able to keep the game under control. Even so the foul count was about 25 to 1.

Unicol struggled to string passes together and were unable to threaten the Cambridge goal enough to pose a real threat. Saying that Ryan Hodge had a left foot effort tipped around the post via a diving save and Sam Sowerby had a goal disallowed due to a dubious hand ball call.

Stand out players:

Sjoerd De Feijter (CB) - Made some good clearances and apart from the 2 (sloppy) goals had the Cambridge forwards under control.

Tyler Mapston - Again ran tirelessly on the wing. Tyler's attitude gives an added boost to the players around him.

Player of the day:

Clint Larson - Clint saw a lot of attention down the left flank and remained solid throughout. Time and time again crucial tackles were made, often winning the ball and distributing it nicely to the midfield.
